WHY USE TOURS
AS CULTURAL TECHNOLOGY
There are several reasons why tours are used in spaces such as museums, cathedrals, archaeological sites, catacombs, industrial heritage, etc.:
In the first place, there is the promotional motive of this cultural space.
A second reason is to bring closer a space that, even in its remoteness, prohibition or impossibility of access, is part of that exhibition space, as would happen with prehistory interpretation centers, where access to paintings or caves is limited or prohibited to the public. and the only real way to perceive the space is with a virtual tour.
A third use focuses on creating virtual exhibition spaces. There are many occasions in which it is impossible to have all the artist’s pieces (paintings, sculptures, etc.), and the best way to present these works would be with the creation of a virtual space. These spaces are also created so that works can be seen from anywhere in the world where they could never be accessed in person. Without a doubt, these spaces have reached a peak in the time of the pandemic so that culture did not come to a stop.
